SERVICES

Work Visas

Whether you are already in New Zealand or overseas, there are different types of work visas available.

The most common work visa is the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) allowing a maximum continuous stay of up to 5 years for median wage earners.

You must hold a suitable job offer to work for an Accredited Employer.

You can usually support your partner and children in your application, depending on your AEWV visa type.

Residence Visas

There are 3 skills-based pathways that allow you to get New Zealand residence if you meet the eligibility criteria:

  • the Skilled Migrant Resident pathway - 6 points required

  • the Green List pathway, and

  • the Care Workforce and Transport Sector Agreement pathways.

Some of the visas on these pathways allow you to apply for residence straight away, such as the Tier 1 Green List Straight to Residence Visa. Other pathways may require you to work in New Zealand before you can apply for residence, such as the Tier 2 Green List Work to Residence Visa.

Partners and dependent children can be included in residence  applications.

Family & Partnership

If you are a partner of a New Zealand citizen or resident, you may be eligible to apply for residence based on your partnership.

Partners of a Worker Work Visa holder may be eligible to apply for a visa which entitles them to work, study or visit New Zealand.

Some visas allow dependent children to join their parents.

Study Visa

Student visas allow you to come to New Zealand to study full-time to gain internationally recognised qualifications.

You can apply for this visa if you are a distance learning outside New Zealand and need to visit your education provider for more than 3 months.

Depending on your visa conditions, you can work part-time while studying and work full-time during the holidays.

Many Student visas allow partners and children may be eligible to apply for a visa based on their relationship with you.
